TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE SCOOTERS
WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM SPEED OF AN E-TWOW SCOOTER?
The E-TWOW reaches speeds of up to 36km/h! While this is amazing, many countries have legislation that imposes a speed limitation that are specific to the location. We encourage you to be aware of this and ride safely in your zone.
The preset speed limitations are 6 km/h, 12 km/h, 20 km/h and 25 km/h. This function can be activated or deactivated from the central control unit, according to the user’s needs.
HOW FAR CAN I RIDE?
The E-TWOW is the first scooter to use the KERS technology (KINETIC ENERGY RECOVERY SYSTEM) through the magnetic braking system, so the distance on a single charge is increased up to 60%.
In the ideal scenario, riding 20km/hr you can ride your scooter up to 45km.
But it's not as easy as that. Depending on the riders weight, wind and route conditions, this will vary.
Based on our experience we feel that you can reach distances of 20km comfortably on a single charge.
Feel like the distance you can achieve is changing?
Here are some key reasons:
WEIGHT - both you and your gear!
ROAD CONDITIONS - bumps and inclines
STOP/START - if you are stopping and starting frequently
HOW LONG DO THEY TAKE TO CHARGE?
4A charger – 1.5 - 2 hours
2A charger – 3 – 3.5 hours
When you get the E-TWOW electric scooter for the first time, we recommend to charge the battery fully before using it, and charge it once every three months if are not using the scooter regularly.
HOW MUCH DOES IT WEIGH?
Booster V and ECO Scooters weigh 10.7kg – perfect for commuting!
CAN I FOLD IT?
The E-TWOW scooter is a completely foldable electric scooter.
The folding process is done in 3 easy steps and it takes only a few seconds.
When you are ready to go again, it features an automatic unfolding body.
Watch it in action here.
CAN I ADJUST THE HANDLEBAR HEIGHT?
HOW BIG IS IT?
Unfolded: 940 x 135 x 1160 mm | Folded: 945 x 135 x 300 mm
The compact shape makes it very easy to carry and store it is virtually unnoticeable at your feet or under the seat on public transport or your desk at work!
TELL ME ABOUT THE BRAKING SYSTEM.
All E-TWOW scooters feature a two brake system. The front wheel features a regenerative brake designed to keep you safely in control of your speed. The rear wheel features a friction brake for emergency use or as additional control when going down steeper hills!
DO YOU NEED TO HAVE RIDDEN A SCOOTER BEFORE?
The design of the E-TWOW scooter offers a very stable and easy ride, even for people who have never used a scooter before.
We recommend taking your scooter to a carpark or large space to get familiar with how it works before tackling more difficult terrain!
WHAT ARE THE CURRENT REGULATIONS FOR RIDING IN NEW ZEALAND?
E-scooters can be used on the footpath or the road – except in designated cycle lanes that are part of the road (which were designed for the sole use of cyclists).
On the footpath the user must:
- Operate the device in a careful and considerate manner
- Operate the device at a speed that does not put other footpath users at risk
- Give way to both pedestrians and drivers of mobility devices.
- On the road, e-scooters must be operated as near as practicable to the edge of the roadway.
A helmet is not legally required to be worn when using an e-scooter, but is recommended.
Regulations may change at any time. We encourage you to check the NZTA website.
WHY PURCHASE WHEN I CAN HIRE?
If you plan to regularly use an electric scooter for your commute you may want to consider the cost of hire vs purchasing.
Shared scooter operators cost around $1 to unlock and 38c per minute to hire.
For a 10min commute twice a day you are looking at $9.80 to hire a scooter. That’s almost $50 per week!
The Booster Plus at $1399 is the same as 28 weeks of commuting with a rental scooter.
Add between having to find one when you need it (we have all been there at 5pm) or not having that option on the last leg of your journey, the ease of having your own portable solution is a no brainer!
We also love using ours on the weekend, heading up to the shops or heading away on holiday!
E-TWOW scooters offer reliability, a smoother ride, convenience and quality.
